In today’s you learn how to make
a cute bird vector in Photoshop. To make this tutorial we use blending option
and pen tool in Photoshop. So let’s have a look…
Step 1
Create a new document with Width 1400px and Height 1200px.
Step 2
We’ll draw the basic body shape of our birdy now. Make sure to draw each shape on a new layer. Create a new layer by going to Layer> New layer. Then select the ‘Pen tool’ and ‘Shape layer’ option from the top options bar to draw the shape as shown below.
Step 3
Click on the ‘Main body shape’ layer to select it and go to Layer> Layer style> Blending options and use the following settings.
Step 4
Right click on the ‘Main body shape’ layer now and select the option of ‘Copy layer style’. Then right click on the ‘Tail’ and ‘Hair’ shape layers and select ‘Paste layer style’ to apply the same effects on them.
Step 5
Now click on the ‘Wing’ layer and go to Layer> Layer style> Blending options and use the given settings.
Step 6
Now adjust all the shapes as displayed below using the ‘Move tool’.
Step 7
Next, we’ll draw the beak of our birdy. Draw the shapes as shown below on separate new layers using‘Pen tool’.
Then click on the brown beak shape and go to Layer> Layer style> Inner glow. Apply the following values.
Now click the grey triangle shape and go to Layer> Layer style> Bevel and Emboss. Use the given settings for it.
Step 8
It’s time to create the eye of our birdy. Select the ‘Ellipse tool’ and draw 4 circles on separate new layers as shown below.
Now draw a half moon shape using ‘Pen tool’ to form shadow in the eye.
Step 9
Click on the black circle layer and go to Layer> Layer style> Blending options. Use the given settings.
Now click on the orange circle layer and go to Layer> Layer style> Inner glow. Apply the values displayed here.
After that, apply the given settings for inner shadow on the blue circle layer.
Step 10
Next, draw the legs using ‘Pen tool’ as below. Place one of the legs layer on top of the rest of the layers to give the impact that it is in front.
Step 11
So far we are done with our birdy. Now we’ll move ahead to create its shadow. Create a new layer; select the ‘Elliptical marquee tool’ to draw the shape as below.
Fill this selection with # 000000 color using the ‘Paint bucket tool’.
Step 12
Now go to Filter> Blur> Gaussian blur and use the given values.
Reduce the opacity of this shadow layer to 30%.
